What Is a Double Suction Pump Body?
A double suction pump body (also called split case pump casing) is the main housing of a horizontal split-case centrifugal pump where water enters both sides of the impeller simultaneously. This dual-inlet design eliminates axial thrust on the impeller shaft, reduces NPSH requirements, and delivers higher flow rates with greater hydraulic stability compared to single-suction pumps.
