What Is Investment Casting?

Investment casting — also known as lost-wax casting or precision casting — is a manufacturing process that produces near-net-shape metal components with exceptional dimensional accuracy and surface finish. A wax pattern is coated with multiple layers of ceramic shell slurry, the wax is melted out, and molten steel is poured into the resulting cavity. This process delivers:

Best for smaller-to-medium precision parts requiring tight tolerances and excellent surface finish. Multi-layer ceramic shell process with silica sol binder. Ideal for pump impellers, valve bodies, and complex internal passages.

2. Lost Foam Casting (Full Mold / EPC)
Our differentiator. No pattern tooling required — foam patterns are cut directly from CAD data. Perfect for large pump casings, volutes, prototypes, and small-batch production where tooling cost would otherwise be prohibitive. First article in 2–4 weeks.
